Review of Mirage Prestige S10 Black 10-inch 300 Watt Powered Subwoofer

I'm a firm believer in mirage products. They offer an extremely good value as far as other low to mid-priced speakers go. This sub has a beautiful gloss black box that isn't too big and looks very nice! As far as it's sound, as I mentioned it's very smooth, it won't thump and add bass to things like my previous cheaper subs did. If you like subs that thump a lot and add bass where it shouldn't be and are calling attention to them selves all the time, just get any off the cheaper name brands because this sub wont be for you! When called upon, this sub has the most musical powerful bass I ever heard! It blends in very nicely with music and has some extremely powerful bass on movies! Just ask my neighbors, I'm not even blasting my denon receiver when I play movies and the guy behind me has complained about it, the subs not even broken in yet, I've only had it a week. Mirage says to give it 50 hours to break in where it will sound better yet, my other subs were the same way to, they need time to loosen up a little before there at full capacity. I highly recommend this sub, at this price from crutchfield it's simply a steal and flat out bargain!!! This is a taste of what real high end audio sounds like!

Packing a sophisticated punch, the Mirage Prestige S10 subwoofer utilizes powerful and advanced technologies to deliver dynamic bass response from a small, elegantly finished cabinet characteristics typically found in more expensive designs. Engineered to be the perfect bottom-end complement to our OMNISAT v2 and NANOSAT Prestige home theater systems as well as select speakers within our OM Design series, the S10 is a bass-reflex design with dual rear-firing ports. The S10 employs a robust 10-inch front-firing fiberglass composite driver with patented Ribbed Elliptical Surround(TM). This proprietary design eliminates any surround dimpling, enabling the subwoofer to play lower with greater output and fidelity. A high-performance BASH(R) amplifier allows this hard-hitter to generate 300 watts of continuous power and 1,200 watts of dynamic peak power. It also features low level and stereo high level inputs and has an 18dB/octave variable low-pass filter that is continuously adjustable from 40Hz to 120Hz. A fully variable phase control from -180 to +180 facilitates the ideal acoustical integration of the S10 subwoofer with other speakers in a Mirage home theater system. Available in a high gloss black lacquer finish with a black cloth grille, the S10 offers a clean, modern design that easily integrates into any living environment. Acoustically decoupling spike feet and rubber bumpers are included with each model to provide stability and minimize resonance on any floor surface.
